A GOOD HARVEST - A harvest basket weaving workshop
This five hour workshop offers a space to gather together with the soulful practices of harvesting plant material from the land and working it to become a rustic and beautiful autumn harvest basket.
Making use of Common ivy sourced on site, we will work with a pan cultural twining technique to weave our baskets. Using this invasive and fast growing plant, we will offer support to the land, even if in a minute way, to move towards balance. The rhythmic process of weaving will simultaneously work some balance into us through the slow and mindful work of our hands.
This workshop will be offered on the following dates:

WEAVING THE SEASON - SPRING: A basket weaving journey in slow craft and nature connection
Spring invites the energy of emergence. A time to notice what is unfurling, what is reaching toward the light, and what is ready to be brought into being.
Weaving the Season is a soulful spring basketry series with three monthly gatherings where we come together to create with natural fibres, deepen our relationship with the living world, and experience the grounding and joyful rhythms of weaving and creating by hand. We will also have a WhatsApp group so we can share our weaving progress along the way.
Across the season we will explore two woven creations: a random weave market basket and a woven sunhat. Working with the energy of spring we will move between structure, form and practicality to whimsy, beauty and creativity, all the while preparing us with useful items for the warmer months.

COLOUR GATHERING: Earth paint making workshops
Making paint, practicing reciprocity, and learning from the earth
In this hands-on workshop, we will explore the process of making earth based watercolour paints from gathered stones and natural binders. We’ll spend time noticing and gathering rocks that have already been separated from the earth, honouring their long journey and the ancient processes that have shaped them. Through grinding, patience and attention, we will transform these fragments into earth pigments and create our own handmade paints.
This workshop is offered in two configurations;
As a village style workshop held in the afternoon during the school holidays with adults and children (6+) welcome to explore these processes working together
And as an evening session, allowing adults to immerse in this process in a more contemplative, reflective space.
